Maron Lab

mountains
Welcome to the Maron lab!  We are broadly interested in plant population and community ecology.  Our interests are diverse and span conceptual areas ranging from invasion biology to plant-consumer interactions to food web ecology.  The thread that ties these diverse interests together is a fascination with understanding how direct and indirect effects of species interactions influence both the abundance and distribution of species and the organization of complex communities.  Our approach is primarily field based, where we combine demography, small and large scale manipulative experiments, laboratory work and natural history information to determine when and where species interactions have strong or weak impacts on populations and communities.
A brief summary of ongoing and past research projects on different topics, and representative publications these projects have generated, can be found via the “Research” link along the side of this page.
