Syntheses of Circumpolar Indigenous Issues, Knowledge, Relations to Education, Science and Mathematics

Abstract
In this concluding article of the special issue of Interchange focused on circumpolar indigenous issues, relations to education, science and mathematics, major themes are explored in the context of the 2007 U.N declaration of indigenous rights, as well as the political connotations of the notion of “indigenous” in current geo-economic flux. Commonalties from the five articles exploring Inuit, Yup’ik, Inuktitut, Sami and Athabaskan perspectives are also summarized.
