The Montana Arabic Summer Institute (MASI) is an intensive Arabic summer program for high school students. MASI is federally funded by the US National Security Agency, under their STARTALK program, which is administered by the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland. The goal of STARTALK is to expand and improve the teaching and learning of strategically important foreign languages. In MASI, high school students develop Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) and gain cultural knowledge in a fun and academic environment.
