2015 Student Registration

Thank you for your participation in the Montana Science Fair!


Please review the registration process for Division I and Division II below. 


Division I (Grades 9-12) Registration:

1) Review the ISEF Rules Wizard and the Division I Paperwork Guide to determine what forms and approvals are required for entry into the Montana Science Fair.

2) Complete the required ISEF Paperwork and (when applicable) obtain SRC/IRB approval PRIOR to experimentation. IMPORTANT: Projects involving Humans, Vertebrate Animals, or Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents (microorganisms, DNA, or Tissues) require prior approval by an SRC or IRB. Projects that do not meet this requirement will be disqualified.

3) For projects involving Humans, Vertebrate Animals, or Potentially Hazardous Biological Agents (microorganisms, DNA, or Tissues), submit a scanned copy of the required paperwork to mssf@mso.umt.edu or fax to (866) 719-5193.

4) Complete the MANDATORY online registration. (Only one registration per team is required. Team members cannot register individually.) Please note registrations received after 12:00 PM on March 9th, 2015 are not guaranteed a t-shirt, so please register early when possible!

5) Submit the $20.00 registration fee (per student) via mail or on the day of the fair. Please make checks out to the University of Montana (see address below).

6) All Division I students must display the required paperwork with their exhibit (see Division I Paperwork Guide).

Division II (Grades 6-8) Registration:

1) Review the ISEF Rules Wizard and/or 2015 ISEF Rules and Guidelines with a teacher or mentor. Note: Division II students do not need to submit ISEF Paperwork. 

2) Download and complete the Division II Research Agreement.

3) If the project involves Vertebrate Animals, Human Subjects, Potentially Hazardous Materials or Biological Agents, the student(s) must have three adult sponsors willing to review and oversee the project. These sponsors must include a parent/guardian, a teacher, and a local scientist or professional who will supervise the project and attest that the project adheres to the Intel ISEF rules and regulations. Contact information for sponsoring adults will be required during online registration.

4) Complete the MANDATORY online registration. (Only one registration per team is required. Team members cannot register individually.) Please note registrations received after 12:00 PM March 9th, 2015 are not guaranteed a t-shirt, so please register early when possible!

NOTE: Online registration will close on March 12th, 2015 at 11:00 pm. Late registration ($25.00 per student) will be open on Sunday, March 16th and the morning of the fair on March 17th.
