First River Center Graduate Research Scholarship Awarded

Nick Silverman, an incoming PhD student in the Department of GeNick Silvermanosciences, has been awarded the first River Center Graduate Research Scholarship. Nick will be working with Dr. Marco Maneta to develop a research topic related to watershed hydrology and restoration. Nick comes to Missoula after several years working in the river and wetland restoration field as a project engineer with Natural Systems Design, a Seattle-based firm. Nick received a B.S. degree in Physics-Engineering from Washington and Lee University and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. Nick holds a professional license in Water Resource Engineering in the State of Washington. His interests include kayaking and international water resources management.

Conference Announcement
