Legal Status of Pattee Creek
| The State of Montana currently has no information on Pattee
Creek. The
Department of Environmental Quality would like to have information about
the creek so that it can determine whether
Pattee Creek is supporting its uses or whether action is needed to restore
the creek..
Like most of the tributaries of the Clark Fork, Pattee Creek is classified as a B-1 type stream by the Montana Water Quality Standards. This means that the stream is expected to support a cold water fishery, and can be used for swimming and drinking (with a minimal amount of water treatment, filtration and chlorination to kill any microorganisms). A B-2 stream is similar, but cannot support a cold-water fishery as well as a B-1 stream. A B-3 stream supports only a warm water fishery. |
